Marin County Transportation
Public Transportation throughout the Bay Area is attempting to coalesce into a unified entity. It is still far from that, but synchronized routes to and from the Bay Area Counties can be researched at 511.org.
Marin County is served by Marin Transit, a bus system that serves county destinations like West Marin. It also provides specialized shuttle service to Muir Woods and community shuttles to hospitals and schools. Golden Gate Transit provides commute transportation into San Francisco via buses and ferries as well as a connection system within the county.
Marin Airporter runs a regular bus to and from San Francisco International Airport. There is also Marin Door to Door, an alternative van based airport shuttle. Santa Rosa Airporter can be picked up in Marin at two places for transport to Oakland International Airport.
There are numerous bike routes throughout the county and Marin County Bicycle Coalition is a good resource for that information. There are several cab companies, including Marin Green Cab and Marin Radio Cab.
For personal limousine and car service needs, please contact us for more information. For those who will be driving over the many bridges in the Bay Area, an electronic FastTrak device is recommended for ease, speed and savings.
If you are a regular user of public transit, a Clipper Card/Translink Pass will save you money in many cases and also make your life easier. Clipper will help you jump from system to system as you travel the San Francisco Bay Area.
